Through the eyes of a tourist

A bit of randomness from my time in Maine.

I like to think that I behave much better than the normal tourist... no matter where I am. Call me crazy, but I do think it's polite to wait to walk through a scene that someone is actually taking a picture of. And I think it's proper to wait until someone is finished taking a photo of their family before I walk between the group and the camera. And yes, if you ask me, I'll take a photo of you and your family. I wish that everyone thought the same way. It would be nice if everyone had the common courtesy to just wait a second before walking in front of someone with a camera.

I had the opportunity to talk to a lot of people while in Maine this year... some that stood back and watched for a while, and then stepped forward with questions for me, and some that just walked up and started asking technical questions about why I was doing what I was doing. I never mind talking to people about photography... Some questions seem silly at first, buy only to me. To the person asking, they aren't silly, and the time that you take to answer those questions might end up meaning that the person has gained a little knowledge about that camera in their hand... especially if all they do is shoot in automatic mode because they've only had that camera for a short time.
