365 | The end of days

365 days. Countless photos that didn't make the cut. Plenty of photos that made the cut that shouldn't have. A year of picking up the camera every.single.day. Numerous nights realizing that I hadn't taken a shot and it was 11:45 pm. It was hard. So many days of thinking it was the last one in the project, that I just could NOT keep up with this. I really, really wanted to drop it. But, given my nature of not being a quitter, I stuck to it. I would have really disliked myself if I had caved in and walked away.

Why did you start this project?

I got talked into it by a friend.

Why didn’t you stop?

I'm stubborn. I didn't want to be another casualty in the process.

Did you enjoy the project?

Yes and no. I like that so many of the photos remind me of a day that I had, good or bad. Little memories, scattered throughout the year.  Some days when there was just so much whirling around in my head it was good to go out looking for that photo of the day. Some days it was just a struggle and I ended up with a cell phone shot for the day.

Was it a success?

I can't judge that by the photos. So many horrible photos. So many cell phone shots. I would have to say the fact that I FINISHED it made it a success.

What's next?

Nothing. I'm hanging up the camera strap for a while. I have nothing in me right now... I need some time to just figure out what comes next...
