Farmland | Infrared

Not too long ago I shot this scene from a slightly different angle, and in color, for my 365 project. When I took that photo I knew that I wanted to come back and do an infrared shot of the scene. That said I didn't choose the best of weather days to take the photo. It was pretty overcast, and light came and went over the scene in waves. I decided to keep a tight composition just because there wasn't much to see in the sky. I chose black and white for the same reason.

I have a converted IR DLSR in my future. Not sure if it'll be done before the leaves are off the trees, but one can hope. I just need to get it done... in a timely fashion... which does seem to be a problem for me lately!

That's a real keeper. The funny thing is now that my 8mp old dslr is converted. I really want to backup a second 50d and convert that so I have nice big 15mp files to play with. It never ends does it...

Yeah, I hear you, Carl. That's the only drawback. Bigger photos. If I'm not shooting IR, I shoot with a D700, and although I've seen IR photos from one, I've not had the luck to get one. I'm not done trying, but I'm losing interest :)

I have only had 8x12s done from my converted 8mp. they look great and I think 16x24 will be good too. just a bit nervous when I view files at 100% in photoshop. Will have to do a test print I guess.
